An Intriguing Tale Of Being An Owner

MIL’s traditional birthday cake. Uhhh.. we didn’t bake it hor.. we bought it at Sobey’s ..

Why do i get hungry more often than my spouse..?? I gotta eat every few hours… it’s like my life depended on it..!!!
Can anyone shed some light to it..???

The storm is finally here.. and it’s blowing hard… really hard.. we are covered with snow.. and snowed in.. and our store is not open this sunday. But donch think that many ppl is gonna be brave enough to venture out to get a movie or a game.. haha!! I seriously doubt other establishments are open today. It doesn’t seems like a sunday to me today.. more like a weekday.. for some reason.. hah!!
Anyhow.. no power outages yet.. thank God..!! and 30cm of snow already at the moment. Bah..! hate the snow.. hate the winter.. hate bad weather.

Woke up several times during the nite.. because my spouse was coughing badly… and being a lite sleeper.. i couldn’t get enough rest. But my spouse was good.. and got up at 7.30pm .. and left the room so i could get more sleep.. unfortunately not knowing where he was.. i kept waking up.. trying to hear him .. from the bedroom.
So we ended up not getting much sleep.. both of us.. coz’ we had to rush back to the store.. coz’ someone was ill. My spouse had planned to go back to bed.. after my MIL woke up.. thinking that we had full staffing today.. he didn’t need to go in .. until the evening. Plus we had to rush my MIL back home. .for there was a blizzard warning… and we really don’t wanna make her stay longer than she wants to.. coz’ she was bored to death.. at our place.. hahhaha!!! no place like home.. i guess..
So in between rushing to get my MIL back.. and getting stuff for the business.. like the essentials.. garbage bags.. stock up on toilet paper.. and post it notes.. and returning ink catridges for the store.. and then bringing my MIL for shopping before going home… so we made our rounds to the liquor store.. the tobacco store.. and grocery store.. and trying to put chloe to sleep. .on the ride to my MIL.. and then rush back to work, so that our store manager can leave earlier for she was ill.
By the time i got into the store.. i learnt that my store manager had left for she was very ill, i got worried for her.. coz’ she was driving herself home.. and she was in no condition to drive.. from wat i understand from another employee. And a good thing i came back to the store just in time for the crowd .. and boy !! were we busy..!!! that time just flew.. and by the time things slowed down.. we were shocked that it was almost 6pm already.
I stayed some more in the store.. because i had anticipated more customers …. stocking up on movies and games because of the blizzard warning in the entire Nova Scotia… and ended up .. not going home till closing. My BA man’s dad sent me home.. but my spouse had to go back to the store.. coz’ my BA man couldn’t get the stupid door to lock properly..
So putting on all his winter garb.. he braved the cold.. in his cold.. and cough.. and went back to the store.. and lock up properly. And yes.. my spouse was tired…… coz’ Chloe wasn’t being her best for her da-da tonite.. and by the time i got back.. i was tired too.
My spouse made me food.. we fed and bathed Chloe and tried to put her to bed.. but of course she didn’t wanna sleep till 1am.. and got up again at 2.40am.. and finally went back to sleep again at 3.20am.. and here i am.. at 3.33am.. writing this blog.. waiting for Chloe to sleep soundly before going back to bed.. so i don’t wake my spouse up.. and he can get a good rest… for tomorrow.. if the storm didn’t come.. poor da-da .. gotta go open store.. not nice at all.. my poor honey..
Ok folks.. i better go catch some beauty sleep.. nite nite..

3.19am here.. and where’s the much anticipated blizzard.. that sent everyone into a frenzy.. to stock up on food.. and movies.. and watever else they might need to tide themselves thru’ this blady weather..??!!??
We were at the grocery store today.. and the checkout gal said.. that today was even busier than Christmas. So you can imagine how busy it was for us too.. everyone having like 6 movies and a game .. !! Blizzards are good for the business.. but bad.. when you don’t have enough staff to go around..
No signs of the blizzard still .. and all is calm. Wait a min..!! the calm before the deadly storm..??!!?? Hope not.. i hate to think that we might be stucked inside again.. for a few days.. and the store might not be opened .. for business for abit.. and all the snow.. arrrrghhhhhhhhh..!! that we have to shovel….. arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhh… !!
Oh well… wat will be .. will be.. i guess.. ‘shrug’.

Tonight .. A few clouds. Increasing cloudiness near midnight then snow at times heavy. Amount 5 cm. Wind becoming northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 near midnight. Low minus 16. Cold wind chill minus 26.

Sunday .. Snow at times heavy and blowing snow. Amount 25 to 35 cm. Wind northeast 40 km/h gusting to 70 increasing to 60 gusting to 100 in the morning. High minus 5. Cold wind chill minus 25.

Monday .. Periods of snow. Windy. Low minus 6. High minus 4.

Today was a pretty good day for me… .. although i didn’t get much sleep last nite… only 5hrs.. and even then… i don’t think i slept a full 5hrs.. because my spouse was coughing non-stop.. and i being a lite sleeper… i get woken up ever so often…
Oh well..
My day started off with pukey Chloe.. who puked after having her milk and cereal.. coz’ i gave her some egg yolk..
And then my MIL came .. to babysit.. and got stuck for the nite.. coz’ line dancing was cancel.. and she found out about it online… seniors going high-tech..!! hahahah!!
My spouse and I had a late lunch at Colony .. a hotel in town..and was stuffed up to our eyeball. I had their special .. some deep fried shrimps.. with baked potatoes..and vegies.. and a roll.. and loads of coffee.. and my spouse had chicken.. and it came in a huge plate.. meaning 2 drumsticks.. 1 wing.. and 1 breast.. ALOT..!! i tell you ..for i ate his chicken wing. Anyhow it was a really good lunch.. and we haven’t had a sit down lunch for a long time.. so it was really good..
We went to get my MIL her yearly cake.. a tradition .. with my spouse… and chocolates.. and a present for her birthday.. pictures to follow tomorrow.
Then we headed back to the store.. and work some.. and came home at 8pm.. and had chicken lasagne… and it was pretty good..
I’m really tired.. and i’m gonna bed. My MIL is here for the nite.. and will go home tomorrow.. so .. tomorrow is gonna be a busy day for us.. so good nite everyone..

Just when we tot we were moving ahead with Chloe in her big gal food.. she took 2 steps back.. by puking .. when we gave her some egg yolk..! and puked big time she did this morning..
Yukky, yuks.. !!

Yesterday we closed early at the store.. coz’ it was still blowing hard… Not good for business at all.. it suxs..!! big time..!!!
We did absolutely nothing .. but cooped at home.. wat a wasted day.. felt might lethagic yesterday.. Hate feeling so useless.. but with weather like tat.. wat can one do..??!!?? but to stay home.. watch a movie.. and feel wasted.

It’s my MIL’s birthday today.. but the weather was so bad.. i couldn’t even go out . .and get her a cake.. and a present.. and go visit her..
That was actually my plan..!! bummer..!! oh well. .prolly bring her to the Colony tomorrow for lunch.. if the weather permits..

I’ve just finished watching the movie “Spanglish” and it was a pretty good movie.. i must announce. Unfortunately.. things like tat only happen in fairy tales… in my opinion.. hahah!! But who am i to have one.. right..?? hahah!! anyhoo.. it was a good watch..
I guess the only reason why i watched it was because of Adam Sandler. I just love Adam Sandler..

I was complaining to my MIL that my menses are kinda erratic after having Chloe.. and she went like.. ” oh ya.. and yer no spring chicken…” hehehe!!
In which i replied.. “thanks mom..” and i chuckled..

Now coming back to the i’m no spring chicken.. i realised that hey..!! it’s true..i had Chloe when i was 39yrs old.. and that’s definitely a late bloomer thing to do. Friends and family back home.. didn’t think i was gonna have a baby.. at all..! Well.. to tell yer the truth.. neither did i..!! Not tat i don’t wanna .. but i wanna have a baby with the right person.. if you know wat i’m talking about .. and the right person just never came along i guess.
So ya.. i’m no spring chicken.. but this old chicken still had some eggs.. and healthy ones.. heheheh!!!
PS:- And this old chicken .. still look like a spring chicken..

I’m still searching for the right template for my blog for this year.. and also trying to decide if i should change to typepad instead. Anyone out there.. who can give me any kinda info.. please do.. and much appreciated.

Chloe is 13 mths old today..!! woohoo..!!! and she slept all the way thru’ the nite.. for 3 nites now.. woohooo..!!!

Chloe slept the whole nite.. last nite.. She made some noises.. but i made sure.. i didn’t jump up of bed in 2 secs…… i waited… and hoped that she would put herself back to sleep… which she did.. so we got 6 full hours of rest.. !! Yippee..!! good times are here again..???!!!??
Well.. she did puke yesterday though.. for no reason at all.. just stood up in the living room… and puke.. but no fever. .no nothing.. just puked.. weird..
Oh well… one of those things i guess.. ??!!???
