I read somewhere that you either have to get them in odd numbers (3,5,7) or 10. So I bought 10 early this year for the Chinese New Year and tied some red ribbons on it. Talk about being superstitious. Heh!

Many people buy fengshui objects and place them all over their house but one of the most important things for fengshui to be effective is putting the right object in the right place. You don’t need expensive/commercial fengshui objects to do so as long as you understand the relationships between the five elements. That’s why many fengshui masters (at least those I’ve met) do not agree with lillian too’s approach because it is very commercialised.
Also, the bazi (birthdate and time) of a person is more important in affecting the person’s destiny than fengshui. After all the fengshui of a house will affect everyone in the house and not everyone has the same luck cycle/favorable elements.
Sorry for rambling on about this =) I don’t practise fengshui much because living in a rented apartment has too many restrictions. But I do tend to make some (not all and where reasonable) of my decisions based on my bazi. =) And of course, like what my dad loves to say (and what a&a is kinda saying) – ‘god helps those who help themselves’.
MrsT – Thanks for trusting what I said about the bamboo and I’m sure you’ve got a great ba zi cos you’re doing really well now so Fengshui is definitely just a bonus for u. =D

Hey ..Gracie,
I agree with you too.. on Too commercialised.
I donch really go into it.. but when you think of it.. it’s alot of common sense.
Plus i do like bamboo.. they are so easy to take care of..
And nope we ain’t do REALLY well.. hahhaha!! far from it.. but we count our blessings.. Gracie.. and thank God for what we have.. and not what we donch have..
