Any young or first time parent, is going to be just like i was .. when i first got pregnant and had my daughter. Everytime, I feel a need to get advice.. the answers from my extended family and friends.. were.. “I’m not too sure .. ! it’s been so long now..!” or “I can’t remember..!” Yes.. and it’s the truth.. and a real experience.

With inexperience comes.. alot of panic. What i really needed at that time was.. radical parenting advice by parents for parents. Hence, the baby shop is truly heaven sent..! Well.. now that local papers are saying that the tourism picture is beyond not good. Urging the ppl to refocus on ourselves and our community was what they recommended.

Even Digby and Annapolis Royal is doing much better than us… so we hear. Is it true..?? Then why are they doing better.. than us.. when we are the gateway to the tourist..?? I’ve been hearing the same old thing.. since 2004 but what has the town .. done about the situation..?? Clearly something is not right..! So why are we not fixing it..?

For the size of this county.. and a mere population of about only 7,000 .. this is sure alot of calls to the respond to .. especially only for the duration of 2 weeks.

So now you understand.. why i am pretty stressed up with thinking of bringing up my kid in this town..?? And you just have to shake your head lah..! when you see why the cops were called. Shoplifting of 4 cases of pop .. by 2 males. WTF..!!WHAT WERE THEY TAKING..??!!?? I so want to know. Pop is so cheap here.. and it goes on sale.. ALL THE TIME..!

And 15 yr old.. stealing a TV..!! from Walmart..!!! OMG..!!! Ok.. i rest my case..!

I was feeding Chloe with dinner tonite…and after watching a muppet show.. i decided.. i wanted to watch my chinese show. But knowing she would protest.. i told her it wasn’t chinese show.

And her reply..?? “Yes .. it is.. !! it’s ” hong lou powt” .. carrot in chinese.. which i’ve been teaching her.. last week. Muahhahahha!!! She is pretty sharp alright..!

You would think that this high speed chase is for big cities.. and not likely to happen in this small town eh..? But nope. .this small town got more drama.. then any place .. I’ve known.. in my entire life.

From drug bust to arm robber and just last nite.. a high speed chase that ended in Dayton.. about 15mins where I lived and work. Fortunately, for the motorist out on the road he got caught. Speedster was driving a late model corvette and ran on food after it slammed into a tree..!

Sending the police dogs and a large number of officers from town and rural detachment deployed, they were caught. Driver taken into custody but the passenger was released. Pray tell me what these ppl were thinking..??

I donch know if you know.. but at our old store.. we have over here.. our famous Wall of Shame. But in our new store.. we’ve decided not to have it up.. because it is fast too messy. Now we have the shoplifter/asshole wall. But truth be told.. i really miss our Wall of Shame alot. And it did helped us deter some ppl from ripping us off.

What do you think..?? should we have the wall up again..?? And yes. .alot of ppl owes us money.

That’s crazy right..?? You think you will feel safe.. having your spouse, brother, sister or even your buddy taught by a teacher who’ve killed his wife..?? Sure it was 17 yrs ago.. but still.. killing a person.. is not your candy store .. stealing of candies. And the teacher was only sentenced 7 yrs in prison.. ??!!??

I donch know what the reason was behind killing his wife.. but killing another human being is just wrong. And it sure takes alot of guts to kill a person. I won’t even dare kill a chicken.. much less a person..!!

Not only is he a killer.. he is also a liar..!! he didn’t even tell the school board about his criminal records. Well.. the court ruled in favor of the teacher. Not that i’m against.. ppl starting anew.. when they committed a crime.. but this is a killing.. right..?? not just your regular petty crime..!! even if he did rob a bank.. i would say.. yes.. give him another chance.. but killing..!! NO WAY..!! not for me anyways.

This was on last week’s local papers.. the Vanguard. As per usual.. i waited.. a week or so before commenting. Why..?? because i always feel that one shouldn’t react ..but sit and think about it first.. give it a 24hrs.. before you even comment on it. And after 24hrs.. if you still feel as passionate about it.. sure.. go ahead.. and comment.. or air your view.

As for me.. i usually give it a week.. at least.. before i would comment on things that are important to me. And here i am a week later.. and yes.. i think these ppl are pure dumb..!! Ello’..!! you donch need a genius to tell you that tourism is down.. in this area..!! it has been down.. for a few years now.. and yet.. what is the town councils doing.. about it..?? or anyone..?? besides the few meetings that we’ve attended.. and not seen alot of things implemented.  What about all the money..?? that were said to have been spent to advertise.. and to boost tourism?

Amidst all the commotion.. and really disheartening questions and very innocent write-up.. and comments from fellow blogging mummies.. one find comfort and so timely .. in another.. with this post.

Let me clarify that i am not gonna stop blogging nor blog hop .. but i won’t be visiting some blogs anymore.. because i just donch wanna get involved .. in those “witch hunting” series.  I also know that some mummies wanna champion their blog buddies.. because they’ve become such good friends with each other.  But before you do, have you given it some thoughts.. ??  are you championing your blog buddies.. just because ..??  or did you find out the truth first..??  I salute those who would go directly to the source.. and “hantam” the source if there was a cause.   But if you are just doing it blindly .. without knowing the truth from the wrong.. then i cannot say alot for you… and that also would make me think of you .. and our friendship again.

I donch know about other women but a very funny thing or rather changes i noticed quite visibly and not really something that i had planned .. but after having Chloe.. meaning after giving birth to her.. i know my body so well… like i know exactly what my body is tell me.

I give you an example .. do you know when you are ovulating..?? i do.. i know exactly when i am able to make babies.. and i even know when the egg dropped every single month. I know you might find it really strange .. that i’m saying this.. but it’s absolutely the truth.

You know when you have wind in your tummy.. i can feel my wind travelling into different parts of my body.. it’s freaky eh..?? But yes.. after having Chloe.. i’m more in tuned with my body.. and feel as if.. it’s talking to me. I know.. i donch sound coherent.. but i assure you i am very sane.. just feeling rather wierd.. at times..

Are there anyone out there like me..?? i wonder.

I’m such a bad citizen..!! i forgot about Singapore’s national day .. amidst all the hustle and bustle of my life..!! Every year i would feel especially nostalgia.. when National Day in Singapore is approaching.. but this year.. i had completely forgotten about it.

I wonder if it means.. i am gradually not missing Singapore so much..?? or am i more Canadianized now..?? As a kid.. i’ve always loved National Day.. it makes me wanna become a better person.. seeing all those wonderful achievers in the parade. The MPs in white inspires me.. and till today.. i am forever grateful to our Mentor Minister LKY .. ! he is probably called something else now.. and i donch know.. because stupid straits time decided they wanna charge us for local news over the internet.. so i lost track.

And yes. .i’ve met our then PM LKY , because i used to live at the Istana Quarters. For those who know what i am talking about .. must mean you have a parent or even both working in Istana. We are a community of people whose family worked inside Istana. Those were the days..! so carefree.. so kampong like. The gardener, the cooks, the cleaners.. the chauffeurs ( there were 10 Mercs in the garages), policemen..were all staying inside the Istana Quarters.

National Day.. what does it mean to me.. now..?? It means.. i miss Singapore so much still. What does National Day in Singapore mean to you..??

There has been alot going on lately with some blogger friends. Truly it is very scary.. how accusations and speculation are flying about. It is pure sadness.

I won’t be visiting alot of blogs anymore.. the reason is quite apparent for i do not wanna be accused of something uncalled and not proven at all. And as for being top earner for paid post.. i’m gonna to slack off too.. so that i donch get so popular and asked too many questions .. which in my humble opinion is rude.

It was fun while it lasted.. but surely not worth .. my friendship that i’ve built all these years and all THE commotion.. when i donch even know what is going on. Bloggers who have known me over the years.. know.. that my motto is “say nothing.. when you have nothing nice to say.. and i mind my own business and never got into blog wars .. and stuff.”

One blogger had even commented that i’m a fence sitter.. and i’m happy with that comment.. because i just donch wanna get involved..! I cannot answer for someone else’s action… so you have any grip with someone .. you should go attack that person.. and not me..! Do not even try and speculate.. with me or my blog.. because truly.. there is nothing to speculate.. ! I’M NOT INVOLVED..!!! in someone else’s action..!!!

I’m sure you are sick and tired of hearing.. how great my in-laws are to me.. hahha!! you probably wanna smack me.. if i said it again… hahahah!! so i won’t !

We were at my in-laws place as usual on a Sunday..and while getting ready to go home.. my in-laws of course.. gotta pack peas.. and fruits… for the brat.. and home made fudge.. and for me.. they would give me vegies .. and stuff. My MIL asked me.. if i wanted some cukes .. and whether.. i wanted the big ones.. or the small ones. So i said.. i wanted the small ones.. for me to make tahu goreng sometime this week.

So my MIL called out to my FIL .. “Hun.. get me a couple of cukes..!” In which i replied.. “wats up with the Huns..!! old folks.. cannot use terms of endearment..!” muahahhaha!! And you know lah.. my in laws very sporting one.. so they laughed too. Now I was thinking about it while PB drove us home.. that if PB is anything like his parents.. when we grow old.. then i know.. for sure.. that the terms of endearment would continue. My parents were never lovey dovey to each other nor them to us. But if you see my in-laws.. you would envy.. the hugging.. and kissing goodbyes.. where appropriate. And my MIL used to say.. “the apple donch fall far from the tree!”

It’s a civic holiday here.. and when i asked my MIL what this civic holiday was called.. and why..?? all she could tell me.. was .. it’s just because.

So yes.. what it all means.. is.. it’s a public holiday for all those lazy ppl out there.. muahahhahahaha!! afterall .. our store is still opened.. and so is Rosa Le’s nail spa..    Asians are the hardworking ones lah..!!!  Ang moh can be quite lazy.. but of course not all lah..!! look at Simple American.. !! now that is a hardworking Papa…!!

On CBC today, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada said and i quote.. “The summer of 2007 has so far seen more business for the world’s largest hotel chain compared to last year.”

Is he kidding me..?? What about some towns.. like ours..?? We have had bad tourism year since 2005 and even though the town council kept saying they are doing this and that about it.. there are still discrepancy as to where .. the tourism money that we had pumped into this town.. and we are never clear about where money is going or went to .. and how it is used.

Do you know that no one is appointed to clean the Main Street of this town!!! For the past 7 yrs .. if there were dog shit on the ground.. it is left there to dry up.. or the store owners need to clean it up themselves. No morning clean up.. before the business day starts .. like we have back home. So what are we paying taxes for..?? But that’s another story for another day.

I received an email from PayPal yesterday.. and someone bought me a coffee.. !!! Really i wasn’t expecting anyone to buy me coffee.. but this cool .. Papa .. who is gonna have a twins soon.. bought me one.. to celebrate my new home with me..!!  Now how can you not love this Papa !!
