Happy Halloween everyone..! i hope everyone is out there having fun. This year.. is alot more exciting for us .. because we are already in our new location for a good 2 years now.. so kinda established on Main Street.

We didn’t see alot of kids coming in today .. for treats.. but that’s alright.. ! we donch really get alot. It had been a busy day at the store though. But i guess we are most excited.. because out lil’ brat gets to go for her very first Halloween. Previously, we felt that she was too young to do it and the weather was way too cold then. But this year.. we already booked Keegan for helping out, so that was really good.

The store is quiet at the moment.. i guess it is supper time.. but i still see a few children out there.

Yes.. apparently the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper is gonna grace this town with his presence. Afterall, one donch get to meet their queen or president on a daily basis.

I wonder if the town is gonna be closed or what..?? afterall, this is a very small town..! from Burridge to my store.. it’s only a few minutes walk.

Was doing groceries this afternoon, when we met PB’s oldest friend.. but not the bestest friend for your info. And after talking to him for less than 5mins.. OMG..!! i realized it’s no point chatting with this person.

7 yrs ago, when i first met him, he was the same way.. obnoxious, arrogant, rude and so full of himself..! The kinda fella .. that must always be right..!! Pity he isn’t in the sales line though.. if he is.. he’ll prolly do better than he is now. A person who can never keep a relationship for more than a couple of years.. and can only impress young gals… well. it’s just very sad. And he doesn’t know how pathetic he actually is..! now that’s the best part… of most obnoxious and arrogant personality.  They have such big inferiority complex.. they can’t see beyong their big head… muahahhahaa!!!  pity..! but ppl donch change..not for a million years.  I wonder why i even bothered to stop and chat.

We were on our way to Grammie’s today.. and had dropped into Sobeys .. to get some ginger for my liver. The brat and I didn’t get outta the car because it was faster if PB were to go in and out .. for we were already running quite late going to Grammie’s. So here we are parked next to another car.. and then i noticed someone that PB & I know.. for along time… well .. since coming to Canada. And he didn’t even acknowledge me at all.. and pretended not to see us. Strange as it is.. i’ve noticed that some ppl here .. only will call upon you .. or acknowledge you .. if they need your help… and once they get a better job.. or get married .. they become a totally different person.

I know of ppl that we’ve helped along the way.. and a regular customer of ours.. who left for the west.. to look for a job. .had asked PB if he could get a good computer from PB .. and pay by installment… on a personal basis.. because his wife and kids are here . .in Y-Town.. and he wanted to keep in touch with them. And not even a month later.. his wife had come in to say .. that he was asking for a divorce..! and we haven’t seen him since nor heard from him. Sad eh..?? had we been so helpful .. to have helped him out.. we would have lost good money.. outta good faith.. in this very regular customer.. whom we see on a daily basis. We were very shocked too.. that he just left .. the wife.. and kids.. just like that. Shocking eh..?? especially when the youngest is only a few months old. It has actually made us wonder.. how many ppl are genuine here. Also we are on red alert .. everytime..someone walks in .. and asked if we can help them out.. abit. Have you encounter ppl like that in your life..?? or is it just us.. being the suckers..??

So what is going on with this wonderful town of mine..?? Well.. a few days ago, the RCMP had a major drug bust. Well hurray for the RCMP.. they did a great job..! but guess what..??

“RCMP believe the Ecstasy was destined for resale in Yarmouth and other parts of Southwestern Nova Scotia. This is one of the largest seizures of ecstasy this year in Nova Scotia. Last week RCMP in New Brunswick seized 28,000 tablets. “

These 3 arrested .. are currently out on bail. And what so ironic about this town..?? the woman who was breeding puppies.. illegally is still in jail!!!! So you see where this town’s priority is…?? It’s ok.. to traffic drugs.. ?? it’s ok.. to have illegal firearm..?? but no.. no.. puppies.. cannot be breed wrongly..!! Great town i’m in..! Woohoo..!!

I’m writing this because I know of someone who had bought a puppy from this place. And it came as a shock to me, because i didn’t know it was a puppy mill she bought it from. I doubt she knows herself then.

Digby County is not far from us.. just about a 45 mins drive. PB said it was animal cruelty .. to breed the puppies this way, because they donch give the dogs enough time to rest before they breed again. Strange as it is.. apparently, they donch have license to breed puppies here not like back home… where you need a license for that purpose.

PB said.. she wasn’t taking care of the puppies either.. their tummy were bloated, meaning there was worms in them. The friend we were talking about paid a good $900.00 for hers. Lots of money.. I’ll have to say.

I’m such a mountain turtle. For those who donch know, I just got my first ipod.. recently. Well.. it was a used one.. but still .. it was pretty cool.. i really liked it sleekness, but little did i know that the music that came outta my ipod was so crisp and clear. Unlike the old discman that I had been using for the last 7 yrs.. in Canada.. it was skippy because of the cds that i’ve had inside.. and some wouldn’t even work. It was so frustrating.

With my new ipod..! pinkie in color..!! it was amazing..!! i love it.. but you see i only listen to my ipod .. while i am in the shower.. or bathing. So my ipod ain’t gonna be over used at all. But still .. i’m such a mountain turtle… it was funny.

Would I have gone to the public talk in Toronto .. had i been residing in Toronto..?? I probably would, afterall, one doesn’t get to meet the Dalai Lama on a daily event. The 72 yrs old Buddhist monk is the 14th Dalai Lama addressed a crowd of 8,000 at the Ottawa Civic Center this afternoon.

The Chinese authorities have said they see any public meeting between the Dalai Lama and political leaders as interfering in China’s affair. Speculations that this meeting will hurt relationships between Canada.. and China. But Stephen Harper is still going ahead with the meet up. This makes me wonder.. is all Chinese.. so “pa tou” one..?? If i donch friend him.. no one else can..?? For this I applaud Canada.. because I know that in Singapore.. they would stay far, far away…like in the case of Malaysia’s ex- deputy prime minister Anwar. I was quite upset.. that the Singapore leaders .. didn’t do anything at all for Anwar.. when he was in need of a friends. Superficial eh..?? some ppl are..!

School just started here in September and like last year, students get to NOT go to school because of what they call “In-Service”. And we are not talking about just one or two school… we are talking about all the schools here in Y-Town.

They have so many “In-Service” I truly wonder how the kids in school are gonna catch up with learning all the syllabus. Back home in Asia.. we never ever .. have a day without school for the teachers to mark their books or go for a meeting…! they do it .. after school on their own time.. or they do it.. while they are in school. We used to joke that unless there is a fire in our school.. burning the whole building down, there will never be a day .. where there are no classes.

Teachers here are sure “Senang” ..! “In Service” so many times last year, donch know how many “In-Service” days they are gonna have this year.

For those out there who donch know.. how much goods and services tax . .or what they call here as HST… we have to pay here.. well.. you donch really wanna know.. because it’s at 14% ..!! yup… very high eh..?? It sure is..! Back home we now pay for 5%..?? and it’s usually absorbed by the shop keeper.. but here in Canada.. everything is taxable.. except some food items.

So if any stores were having a no tax sale.. you’ll know where we will all be.  Just like today.. one of the big boys was having a no tax sale till the end of the day.. and guess what..?? the whole town was in the store.. i bet..! we too bought a few things to get ready for the brat’s winter. Boy..! it was crowded..!  14% savings.. ! we did stock up on stuff..!

The Americans have Coney dog… the Malaysians have Coney dogs, the Singaporeans have Coney dogs..!! why is it .. that the Canadians have Whistler dogs.. that is so shitty.. at $4 bucks.. with nothing on it.. just the normal relishes ..and mustard only..!! I told you food suxs big time.. in this small town..!! I really donch mind paying for good food.. but it’s nothing but crap at the A&W here…!!

It’s true.. i’m not vain.. i just want to keep healthy. After having a baby, there are areas where no matter what i do, don’t seems to want to go away. So a little help is always good, but i also want to know what will work for me.. and of course as quickly as possible. So a little research work is required when one buy diet pills to see what other consumers are saying. When Dracula Jon left.. we really had nothing against him… till he called us the biggest rip off in town.. coz’ his current “favourite” computer store.. moved next door to us. Well.. Dracula Jon.. the reason why we couldn’t do what your “favourite” store was able to do for you .. is because we are honest ppl who don’t make extra money by burning games.. and movies for money…!! No wonder you liked them so much..! I am also guessing.. that they gave you the same perks.. eh..??

Well in.. your face.. ! Dracula Jon.. coz’ it’s ppl like you .. who’ve encouraged them.. to continue being criminals. Now they are being charged.. ! In your blady face..!

We only got to know about it .. late last nite.. so we won’t be able to switch timing.. and go early to Grammie’s for lunch instead.. as we already had plans.. and everyone knows.. chloe doesn’t sleep good at nite.. so we dare not promised to be there for lunch. So this Sunday will be only family time for 3 of us.. and some grocery shopping later.. I hope everyone is having a good sunday.

All the tv shows are back for a new season.. but i haven’t even started on any.. because i’ve been busy..! Busy with what..?? you ask… ? Busy with watching my chinese shows. Yes.. give me chinese shows anytime..! i love my chinese shows so much.. you cannot imagine.. what i would do .. just to chase after it.. for the next episode..and the next.

Donch get me wrong.. i love the english dramas too.. but if i had to choose.. i’ll have no choice but to choose my chinese ones.. so now you know where my loyalty lies right..! No chinese food nevermind.. but must have chinese shows..! else it would drive me nuts..!

I love doing charitable work.. and donating.. to charitable organization. I used to donate yearly to an orphanage back home.. before coming to Canada. And it is really a joy because i donch expect anything in return.

Running a business in this small town of PB’s sure brings a whole new definition to charitable work and charity. I have kids from school, just random ppl coming into the store for donation without so much as to explain what we are donating to and why .. and who is going to benefit from it. And of course those you’ve never in my 7 yrs seen before in the store, spending money but can come in and ask for donations.

Seriously, i feel folks doing or collecting donations, should be trained alot better here. As for those who wants sponsorship.. they ain’t any better either… but that’s another story for another day.

We all love Dr Said, he is my daughter’s paediatrician but getting an appointment with Dr Said can be quite trying. I’ve always joked that seeing the paediatrician is worst than making an appointment to see God the Almighty. Yes.. it is not only hard to get an appointment with him, even if you do get one, his secretary seems to always get the timing wrong because many a times we have to wait for hours just to get into his office to see him.

Now on the other hand, seeing my gynecologist is a breeze. I’ve always wonder if it was because Dr Said had too many patients and overwhelmed by it. But a check with my gynae’s secretary, and i found that they were using a healthcare management software to help them with all their administrative work and scheduling and rescheduling, with less paperwork and a time-management software and other features, they actually became more efficient. Maybe, someone should recommend this software to Dr Said eh.
