“A suspected Canadian pedophile wanted by Interpol was arrested in Thailand Friday, said Thai police.”
How they caught up with him in Thailand, wasn’t mentioned at all. Just glad he is arrested. Is he is really guilty.. then he shouldn’t be in public ..! Neil was the subject of an international manhunt sparked by Interpol’s rare appeal last week to find a man who appeared in 200 photos posted on the internet depicting sexual abuse of a dozen young boys. Canada has an extradition treaty with Thailand, which could allow Neil to be tried here.

We’ve just entered into our 4th year since we gotten our very first mortgage for our house. I remember 4 yrs ago, when we decided that renting was enough for us, and we wanted to invest and buy our own house, we really didn’t know exactly where to start or what to look up for as there were so many banks offering mortgages to first time home owners like us. Since it was the biggest investment one can make in one’s lifetime, we were most careful to choose a lender that gave us a good interest rate and no penalty for paying off a certain percentage at an earlier date than the mortgage agreement of 3 yrs.
4 years after owning a house, we are considering re-mortgages to save on monthly payments and reducing our burden on it. And since we have a good standing with our existing bank, and paying up our mortgage religiously, I shouldn’t think we will have any problem with our re-mortgage. Of course, not all homeowners get a remortgage loan for lowering monthly cost, as sone just wants to consolidate their debt or paying for some home improvement. And since the market for remortgaging is very competitive, we will need to do our little research work, before deciding.

The landlord is renovating the neighbour’s store and it’s done this late, because business owners didn’t want to be disrupted during the summer.. when the tourist were around (not that we had alot to begin with). So it started on Monday, and here we are.. looking at them putting the scaffolding up and watching the workers bum around.. and having coffee and standing in front of our store, yakking and smoking and having the most relax time… and the scaffolding isn’t even half up yet.
I donch know if you know.. but here in Canada.. these construction workers are paid the best money, it can be up to $30 an hour for their work. I’m just damn glad.. that i’m not paying these guys for work done.. that’s all.
Pity the landlord..! wonder if he knows about it at all..??

My grandmother preached about investing when we were very young. The two things she said was worth investing were gold and properties. So like any Asian we listen and take in any good advice that is dished out to us.
My spouse and I have been thinking alot about our retirement, even though we are still pretty young, we feel a need to plan ahead. And what better way to invest our money in on Condo Hotels, not only can you rent your condo out to vacationers when you are not using them, as a guest, you can expect all the amenities and more. Definitely an interesting investing plan for the future, think about Trump Chicago Condo Hotel and you will know what i am talking about.

My sister is a home maker and we’ve always teased her and say that she is a lady of leisure .. not only because her kids are all grown up .. but because she loves her high-teas and english scones. But our conclusion came after we realised how much she love buying jewelry, she loves them so much that the jewelry store would call her personally should their be a new shipment in, or a new designer has been hired on. Of course with this privilege, she never fails to buy something each time she goes shopping.
So whenever we are out for high-tea, she would flaunt her latest collection to us. But I must say she has got good taste in her jewelry because each piece is pretty unique. Not many people can be called a Lady of Leisure, but my sister sure qualified.

It was Thanksgiving weekend here a few weeks ago in Canada.. and most stores will be closed on Monday. While everyone loves the holiday.. i hate it with a passion..! why..?? because we never get to rest. Irregardless whether we have employees or not.. because they donch wanna work on the holidays.. and if they do.. they think and label you as bad bosses. They make it looked like they were doing us a favour by working.. and making money.
And it is really not just one or two employees that we have had .. that behaves this way.. it’s all. The mentality here.. is really different.. from what I am used to. Anyway.. I digress.. so now we work on our own .. during the holidays.. and donch even think of hiring anyone special just for holidays.
With the Canadian Dollars so strong.. it seems like everyone is heading to US for shopping trip. Any Canadians out there.. i know doing that..?? Well .. if you are.. make sure you are prepared for the traffic and jam at the border. Donch give your US neighbours a hard time ya..!

To be honest.. i didn’t really think anything changed at all. Disappointed with this town.. is an understatement..!
“A new tourism development plan that promotes this part of the province as Yarmouth and Acadian Shores is designed to help draw more visitors to southwestern Nova Scotia, officials involved in the preparation of the plan said last week in Yarmouth during the plan’s official launch “
Ya..! like some name changing is gonna change everything and turn the tourism industry around.. and bring in the moolahs.. for the ppl here.

It is never easy to watch someone you know, even if he/she is just an acquaintance having a health problem, moreso one that makes you lose control of your will-power, lose your sense of integrity and see them do thinks you can never imagine one can do just to support their addiction. I can assure you that recommending a drug rehab may not even be the easiest unless he/she wants to get help and is determined to change. Some people do but some people will still go back again and again, for they cannot resist the temptation. But success story is seen when you are there to support your loved ones unconditionally and of course a good support from the rehab center always works well and long.

My nephew is the expert when it comes to speeding tickets. Every year he gets at least 4 tickets while the uncle, my spouse gets the parking ticketing. At least parking tickets doesn’t get you any demerit points but speeding tickets does. So guess what we are getting for him for Christmas this year..? No prize for guessing right. Yes.. a radar detector! Radar detectors are not uncommon these days and yes, they are perfectly legal to use for non-commercial vehicles in 49 States but that does not mean that we encourage him to drive irresponsibly but many a times, we know that it might be a mistake, and we are just trying to avoid having him lose his license.

They put up such a pathetic parade yesterday nite.. PB and i didn’t even go out to see it from our store. There weren’t much ppl lined up on the streets either to watch it. And to be honest with you … i didn’t know at all.. about the parade.. till it was happening.. ! so tell me how much they had done on announcing stuff like that. What a pathetic lil’ town.. and pathetic ppl..!
Ya.. ya.. ! i feel like this.. most likely because i am still upset.. they are gonna build that municipality building for 5 million or more. To me it’s just blatantly obvious .. that they are just gonna do what they want. And guess what i just heard the new justice building at $11 million has a garden terrace on the roof top..! JUST GREAT..!

The site has recently come under fire for removing pictures of breastfeeding mothers, and banning users on the grounds that they’d uploaded “obscene content” to their profiles. In response, nearly 7,500 users have joined a group on the site called Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!
I am not on Facebook but i think this is stupid. Breastfeeding in public is legal and a company as big as Facebook removing pictures of breastfeeding mom is gonna get itself into hot soup… sooner or later. Sometimes i donch know why ppl are so stupid..!

“Mayor Charles Crosby flat out denied that any of those statements are legitimate, while councillors Esther Dares and Murray Judge said Hemeon was fear mongering and pushing a matter no one else is discussing.”
There has been lots of speculation that the town “people” might bring a casino in.. for tourism purpose .. for the last month or so. I too got very caught up with this news.. for I am not happy with that. Already .. you have kids breaking into ppl’s apartment to rob them.. for a few bucks worth of things.. so what is a casino gonna do for the ppl that are already crooks enough. I personally feel that the town is already in a very sorry state.. . and to have a casino.. would only mean more crooks and more break-ins .. more theft .. and more crime. in this town. I know so .. because of the amount of kids bringing us stolen goods to sell.. to us.. and bad cheques from a woman in her 40s .. 3 children because she gambles all her welfare cheques away .. on the slot machine.
I hope for the future generation, we will not have a casino here ever.

“I’m fed up to the top of my head,” says the visibly distraught owner of the 34-unit Voyageur Motel on Lakeside Drive.
Is it any surprised to me..?? nope.. not at all. And the people who wants to run this town, wants to spend 5 million on a building .. that they don’t need just for their own frivolous whims and fancies. If you ask me.. I would say to use this money to boost tourism.. to save the town..! to save the livelihood of those still living in this town!
Owning a business for 30 yrs, is no easy feat.. and i’m very sure for Marianne Carrier to demolish the front 12 units of her property wasn’t an easy decision but a necessary one. How can one keep running a place.. when there is no occupancy. I’ve been in the hotel industry myself.. long enough to know.. that the town .. hasn’t done any good. .for those depending on the tourist to come. Tourism has been dwindling for the last 3 yrs, yet for 3 yrs now.. what has really been done about it..?? by those who runs the town.. and holds the money..??
We are all not smiling inside … Marianne..!

This movie theatre in this town is pretty new.. only a few years old.. and having been in Canada for the last 7 yrs.. i’ve only been to a movie less than 10 times. Sad eh..?? At first was because the movie theatre was lousy.. and when they rebuilt and had a good one.. Chloe came along… and of course the darn business.. and no good ex-workers.. that we can’t really depend on. So no movies either. We finally went on Monday .. during Thanksgiving Monday for a show.. and the theatre didn’t disappoint except that the show wasn’t that focus. And at $9.50 a pop.. you’ll expect it to be a clearer picture eh.

In every home, we all know how important lighting is. Choose the wrong ones, you know it wouldn’t give you the same feel nor the ambiance that you want to create. When i bought my second home, I was alot smarter than I was with my first. But of course with profit from selling my first house, I get to have a bigger say too.. in decorating my house. As much as I hate being fussy, I spent many hours choosing the right lighting for the right room. It was a tedious task, but definitely an enjoyable one.

This is too funny..! i received an email that my friendster has got a new message for me. To clarify .. i only used friendster because my god-daughters.. Enna and Sandy uses them for photo updates. And i seldom go check it out .. because they too rarely update their pictures. So i was quite surprised to get a message. Well .. guess who was trying to message me..?? As soon as i saw the picture.. i knew it was one of PB’s cousin.. ! it was too funny..!
Why..?? because i am guessing he doesn’t recognised me.. on Friendster…and also because i know he has a lived in g/f from Philippines. And yet.. he is still cruising..! Terrible eh..?? 40 something year old man.. and cannot keep a relationship.. and donch cherish the one he is with. Sad..! and pathetic if you ask me.

My mom always say ” you pay for what you get” and that is so very true. Sure, you don’t have to fork out lots of money just for children’s clothings because everyone thinks that they will just outgrow it very quickly and then it would go wasted, money not spent wisely. But I beg to differ. Most of my brat’s PJs .. didn’t last for more than 6 months.. but the one i had gotten from a girlfriend in Toronto from a designer rack, my kid is still wearing it. How can that be right..?? But it’s true… you really pay for what you get. The material and the design on luxury baby & child clothing are chosen carefully, the stylists turns the materials into fun, wearable clothings for your loved ones.
All mothers want to give their children the best and I’m definitely no different. If I can afford it why not..? What better way to start with good clothings that will last them a long time . Clothe them well .. and you’ll know that the outfit would never shrink now go out-dated. Plus even if you hate to admit it, quality clothings are way better sewn and way better fitting to a child.
