Unfair Banking Charges
For those living or working in UK, you might find this bit of news about banking in UK good news for you. Court action has been filed against several banks, claiming unfair bank charges, particularly when it comes to bounced checks and overdraft charges. I am sure all of us have been charged with overdraft charges before and in fact others like transfer fees when it doesnt’ reached destination. The bank charges you a big fee for these ‘transactions’, but in fact it really only costs the bank only a fraction of that amount. This lawsuit is brought about to help clients who had these “transaction” fee unfairly withdrawn from their accounts. They are not sure how long the process will take, but proceedings are expected to start early next year. Credit cards and department store charge cards will not be affected by this ruling.
