Silver Investing

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

For as long as I can remember.. even my grandmother from China. .invested only in gold. She said .. she never believed in the bank.. or any other kind of investment. I think it has something to do with the war when the Japanese took my grandmother’s house from the family and used it as some kind of brothel for the soldiers. So ever since I was young, i was constantly told and reminded.. that in time of turbulence, only precious gold and silver bars can keep us and our family alive.

Of course, now we are neither facing poverty nor is there an impending war, but it is always good to know that silver being so commonly used these days in industry commodity, is therefore the most demanded. So for those wanting to invest in silver, this is the right time to do it as the investment is attractive and even financial analyst feels that there is great potential in it.  Gold investment is good.. but Silver is just as good.

Jewelry Are Different Here

We had wanted to get Keegan (our babysitter) an anklet that we saw in the flyers. Being 10K . .and at the price they were asking for, i figured it shouldn’t be too, too bad. We headed out to the mall on Tuesday. .to pick it up.. to only find out that the anklet was so flimsy.. i donch know how anyone could wear something like that.

Not only do they not have gold like ours in Asia.. the designs are lousy.. and now.. even with 10K gold that i can accept.. is so filmsy.. ! and really filmsy.. i’ll have to say..!! so disappointing..! i’ve been in Y-Town for almost 8 yrs soon.. yet.. i haven’t bought not one piece of jewellery.. it’s crazy eh..?? especially for someone who buys a piece or two.. sometimes 3 a month from Poh Heng.. ! Does it make me sad..?? yes.. it sure does.. especially when i really wanted to buy stuff for my brat..!

Cheap or Crooks

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Father and son walks into our store to rent a game. $3 for the game and there was a late charge from a previous game.. for another $3, so a total of $6. Father asked .. can i pay you the next time..?? HOLY MACARONI..!!! i cannot believe that a grown man .. do not have another $3 in his pocket..??!!??

We get many of these kinda ppl in the store.. one cannot help but wonder.. if they are cheap..?? or just being crooks..?? what do you think..?? can an adult really not even have $3 to pay for their lates..??

Shopping With Ease

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

The in-laws don’t really have very much room for anything.. because they do alot of farming work.. and growing of vegetables and stuff. The last TV we gave them for Christmas.. was a 27″ but it was very bulky, as you must be aware how tvs are like. Although they accepted the gift graciously I know they must feel that it takes up way too much space.

These days, with LCDs going so cheap, a samsung 32 inch LCD is what we are eyeing on to give them. With a this slim tv, I know for sure, they would really appreciate it since space is quite scarce in the kitchen. And by using Krillion we are able to look and compare prices and at which locality we can find the exact tv that we want and at the price that we find affordable. Their unique localization engine, allows consumers like you and I, to find accurate prices, without the stress of going from one shop to another to compare prices. Shopping has never been this easy.

We had light flurries all day today.. and it was terribly windy this morning right up to now. I donch really mind the snow.. or the rain.. but the windchill can kill..!! If you have never been to Canada.. during Winter.. you wouldn’t know how bad it is.. ! In fact .. i was so naive . .before migrating.. and never thought that the weather would be this bad. It is so bad. .that the brat and i stay home today… while PB braved the weather.. and went to open the store on his own.

Christmas Parades Of Lights

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Every year… the parades of lights is held under very cold and windy weather… and I’m pretty sure.. it was the same this year. But this year we were up in Halifax.. so we missed it.. but if you have seen the floats we have here.. as compared to the ones we have in Asia.. it’s definitely nothing to wow about.

Last year.. we hurriedly got the display windows dressed.. and Chloe also gotta see the parade.. but she was so cold.. even though she was bundled up real good. I wished we had better weather .. for all our events.. and I can assure you .. it wasn’t the 8 degree.. as forecast by weatherman… it was more like -5 with the windchill.. it should have felt like it was -15.
