An Intriguing Tale Of Being An Owner

If you donch know by now.. we open our store at about noon.. sometimes a wee bit later.. due to a not so cooperating 4 yrs old. I used to worry alot.. when the weather is bad.. and we are not in there.. early enough to clear the snow.. in front of our store.. because .. you see.. i care. I care.. because i donch want ppl to be falling over.. or tripping over.. or slip and fall.. because of icy spots in front of our store.

Usually, when the weather is bad.. the first thing I do.. when i get into the store.. is shovel. I leave the brat in the store.. and i go out and shovel.. while PB gets everything else ready .. inside the store. Some ppl think it is because i love shoveling.. HELL NO..!! it’s just that i am too responsible. And it does suxs being too responsible..! because it sure hurts my back and my tummy everytime i shovel. But what to do…?? Well, we found a solution.. or rather the solution present itself.

Fella came into our store today.. to sell PB a monitor… and continued to make conversation with PB .. while PB was testing .. the monitor. He had asked.. what happened to the competition 2 doors away. In which PB had answered him shortly that they were shut down by Bill Gates. He then replied that he heard something about burning software and games.. and that he didn’t even know that it was against the law.

By saying that.. i knew PB was gonna raised his voice.. and give him .. his opinion. And you can see that PB was agitated.. by the ignorance. When the fella left.. PB came over to say .. “how can one be so ignorant..?? Ello Buddy..!! that’s copyright infringement for you ..!”

Customer came in and wanted to trade some games. I wasn’t at the counter at first. But after choosing for a long time, they finally came up with the 2 games.. they wanted to trade with their 2 games. And how can we trade 1 for 1 right…?? if everyone comes in and trade a game .. what are we gonna make..?? Buddy must think we lived on air alone..???!!?? I donch know what it is with this ppl in this town..?? Must be the water..!

A past employee visited us.. on the weekend.. and i was kinda taken by surprised.. because we haven’t seen him.. since he left.. about a few years ago. The reason why we had to let him go.. was because he took a weeks leave.. because his then g/f had a boil on her back.. and she couldn’t reached her back to put medication on.

So we didn’t schedule him for work, thinking we were being nice. But he was upset with us.. and said we were being mean.. instead.. for not scheduling him. *slap forehead*.. and he tendered his resignation .. and left 24hrs. Yes.. you heard right..! These are the kinda ppl we have working for us.. in the past.

Anyhow.. he was in .. and he ate humble pie.. and asked if i knew about his break up… which i did.. but didn’t wanna mentioned it.. because it was a touchy subject. And then he carried on .. to say.. “he grew a brain” ..! I wanted to say.. “about time .. dude…!” but didn’t. Afterall, we all make mistakes in the past. What about you ..??? would you go back and say “sorry” to your past employer..?? if you did them a wrong..?

Women of all ages love shopping. I know of many folks from here.. that asked me about fashionable stuff that only one can get in Asia. I think the folks here are really fascinated with all the cute and quality stuff that one can get only in Asia.

Owners of Canadian Tire in this town had asked the town for $7500 of the taxpayer money in support to build a weatherproof shelter for the farmer’s market. We all know that Canadian Tire makes more than $7500 on a good day.. and they are on Starrs Road. It doesn’t make any logic nor sense to want to give them the money.. to bring more ppl down to Starrs Road.. when it is the downtown business that needs help.

I know that a resident had suggested to bring the Farmer’s market to downtown instead.. to justify .. giving them the money for the shelter.. but he was shot down for his suggestion .. as per usual.. by the town. What hope is there.. for the businessmen downtown.. when the town councils .. don’t even want to consider ways to help liven up downtown. Heavy heart as I write this, I know we won’t be running our business in this town for very much longer.

Yup.. i hate to rant about it .. each time.. but we had freezing rain last nite..!! i was surprised that the power didn’t get knocked out..!! with so much ice.. coming down..!! Luckily this morning.. the roads ain’t that bad.. and i donch think the school is opened today either. And guess what..?? JOY TO THE WORLD..!! my furnace was cold.. when i got in.. we ran outta OIL again..!! and OILMAN can only come in at 5pm.. !!!!! YUP..!!! so here we are in the store.. all dressed up.. in with scarf and all. JOY..!!

Yes.. they started moving the basement today. My FIL & BIL was called in to help.. and a customer came to help with the move to. They started at 2.20pm.. and ended at 8pm. PB said.. 3 quarter of the basement is done. Keegan was called in at 2.30pm.. to babysit Chloe till we left the store at 6.30pm.. she continued with manning the store till closing.

At 8pm.. PB sent my BIL home.. because FIL left earlier. It does look like a good start already. So i’m quite happy. Hopefully we can be half moved by Thursday.. on the retail side. I hope we donch have to move again.. and business will continue to pick up.

The man and his buddies sure knows all about getting more drinks than they should. They even suggested that we should get a beer pong table so that they can have a real drinking game. If you don’t know by now, this game requires the players to throw ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in one of the several cups of bear on the other end.  When a ball lands in a cup, the other team has to drink the beer in the cup.  Yes..! fun stuff.

By the time, we get home from work at 6pm, the sky has already turned dark and sometimes seeing the keyholes or even the icy patch where the car is parked or the pool of water is difficult. For folks living in this part of the world, exterior lighting not only beautify our home but does good for us during the winter. And there are many designs to choose from, it a ball shopping for lights.

I never knew what black ice was all about till i moved to Canada .. and having to travel on the highway.. to my in-law’s house.. for our weekly visit. For those of you .. who thinks that snow and the cold weather is fun.. let me tell you it is not at all. The roads are icy.. and very dangerous.. many ppl loses their life.. because of it.

Black ice.. is when there is ice on the road.. and the visibility of the road is not clear.. and when one hit black ice.. your car can overturn really quick.. and when you panic. .and try to use your brakes.. that is when the car will take a swing.. and send you into another car.. or into the ditch. I always tell PB .. it is not him… i’m worried about.. but the other driver.. going on the other direction.. or those who are sitting on their brains.. who overtakes his car.. even when the weather is bad, or driving at 110-120km/hr.. when they should be driving only 40. Yes.. i’ve seen this alot of times.. during my 8 yrs here.

Living in a small house with a toddler who have like 20 boxes of toys sure isn’t fun. Maximizing space in all rooms is very important to us. Plus of course keeping the plasma tv out of the toddler’s reach can be a chore. Plasma lift must be made for that in mind, not only does it save space, the toddler can get to the plasma tv.. nor do we need to worry about the plasma tv falling on the kid while we are cooking or doing some other chores. Storage and space saving and for safety reasons, 3 – 1 solution.

My grandmother is very old-fashioned, she would go on and on about not getting ourselves into trouble… by getting bad credit. Get a bad credit against you can pretty much upset any loan you want to get from the bank or any financial institution. And I hear that bad credit on your credit file can be against you for a good 7 yrs. Therefore, never ever take bad credit lightly.

So how does one get bad credit you asked..?? Failing to pay you phone bills or cell phone bills.. power bill or just about anything, like renting a movie and not returning the movie can render a letter from the collection agency. If and when you do not pay up immediately, your name goes into a credit bureau.

So you are in the red..?? what do you do if you need a car..?? Not many people that I know can afford to pay cash for a car. Afterall, if you had a few thousand dollars to spare, you probably wouldn’t be in the red. Auto Loans I hear makes getting a loan easy with those who have had bad credits. I hear they process thousands of used car loans and bad credit car loan applications every year.

Had your car repossessed before..?? no worries…! had previous bankruptcy..?? you can be helped, they have lenders that will approve your car loans. Afterall, you don’t want the husband to be the only one who has good credit and not you.

Yes.. my boycotting started last week to be exact.. ! why .. because the local papers consist of only a few pages.. and mostly just advertisement, they are not even really reporting any news at all. I was telling PB the other day.. that the local reporter’s job is very easy.. nothing to report at all. Not like back home.. where you need to go hunt for news. Once a week the papers.. yet.. only a few pages worth reading.. SAD..!

I had a customer come in today.. when PB and Chloe was out getting movies for the store. Guess what this older customer (someone I know but not familiar with) wanted to do.. ?? *smack forehead*

I was behind the counter typing.. and he wanted to reach forward to pinch my face..!! yup..!! yer heard right..??? crazy eh..?? What the hell was he thinking..??? You see what i have to put up here..?? luckily .. there is only one crazy old man.. doing this!! and nope.. he didn’t get to pinch my face either.

Yes.. i’ve resorted to tryyyy.. and keep ourselves protected. How..?? Well.. when someone comes in and sell something to us.. i ask them straight out.. “IS THIS STOLEN?” .. yup.. that was what i did to someone who came in yesterday.. who sold us an Xbox 360. I’ve even thought about getting them to sign a waiver.. stating that what they are selling to us isn’t stolen. But i guess PB thinks i am crazy. But how can i not be.. when you have a cop .. telling you .. that “they ain’t even gonna charge us for stolen procession” Now tell me how you cannot be infruriated by uncalled and careless remarks by someone who we are trying to assist .. solved the case.

Yes.. PB has decided to move next door. Will be signing the new lease on Monday… provided landlord is on the ball. So we can pretty much start moving really soon.. so we donch have to pay another month’s rent. I know besides being lower in rent for the new place.. the reason why PB wants to move is all because of me .. and my feng shui. I can’t wait to move away from the big arrow.. pointing directly at our store. Wish us luck ya..!

Yes.. i was about to write an open letter to P.P.P., taking the example of ProBlogger and his letter to Adsense. It was intriguing to read what ProBlogger wrote and it surely apt the feeling i had for P.P.P. yesterday.

I was angry of course.. yesterday.. but like always.. i never write or say anything.. when i am angry.. i give myself 3 days.. before doing anything. That way, i know I am not acting stupid. What about you ..?? do you rant and throw tantrums.. and wanna punch someone .. when you are mad..?? Oh. btw .. everything is resolved.. and P.P.P. is still my favorite ppl.

I’m sure all of you know we are in the midst of moving to the new store. And if you don’t know by now, the front of the store is all carpeted but not the back of the store. And back of the store is to be turned into our own little office space and a place for PB to work on his computer and I was considering laying tile for that area. Getting beautiful tiles directly from its manufacturer, will surely save us some money.
