We should put up a big sign like this right outside our store, so that i don’t get infuriated and wanna jump over the counter and smack their head each time.. someone tries to sell something to us… but wants it in their terms.

Sell your stuff on our terms.. and not yours.

If you see a similar product at $150 .. it does not mean it is the same product as yours.  We cannot give you $130 for your stuff.

Do not tell me to lower my price for my product.. so that I will have it sold faster.

Please do not dictate how i should price my products or dictate how i should run my business.

THE MINUTE YOU START PAYING MY RENT, THE HEAT, LIGHTS AND MY TAXES (PLUS THE EMPLOYEES), THEN WE WILL GO BY YOUR TERMS.

Our Store

Yes..! for those who doesn’t know yet.. we do sell quite a number of stuff.  We sell computer and its software, hardware, computer games.. and dvds .. and even console games.  We even sell knick knacks.. like batteries.. and cable wires .. and routers.. and music cds.  Now one of the things we don’t carry are acne products and i have no idea.. why someone would come into a computer store.. to ask for that.   This town really, really amazes me.

The Local Newspaper On The WWW

Now i know why the local papers only has a PR 4 .. and USA Today has a PR 8 with loads of advertisement.. and making all sorts of money.  I had written a comment on one of the article written by the local reporter .. and guess what..?? no comments were published at all.. after so many weeks.  I guess they don’t believe in free speech eh..??  Oh well.. !  i’ve always known that the local papers is kinda not news worthy..! that’s alright.. ! i’ll read .. USA Today instead.

Meal Times @ Work

8 yrs in Canada.. and helping the spouse in the store.. does not make the meals any easier at work.  Really and in all honesty .. i’ve tried to like the food here.. from sandwiches to pasta and pizzas too.  But none i really can stomach no more.  I do need more recipes for home cooked food.. and to bring them to work.. and nuke it here but it is so time consuming.. !!arrrrgghhh..!!! why donch they have catering service here..?? for home cooked food like home.

Don’t Do Business At My Store

Sometimes I’ve gotta be very calm with some customers that comes into our store.  Here we are .. doing business… minding our own business.. and then you have someone trying to undercut us.. when someone is trying to sell something to us… by offering buddy $10 more.

So ok.. he figured he wasn’t doing us a dis-favor . .because he thought that we weren’t interested.  But man..!! if we were negotiating .. in OUR STORE..! no one should butt in right..? common courtesy..??  not like someone was trying to sell us bodybuilding supplements while we are dealing with electronics, computers.. and previously played games.  Seriously..!!!

Bin Ladin Lookalike Came Back

Yes..! after our little episode with Bin Ladin lookalike.. we didn’t think we would ever see him again.   We went into the store after my doc’s appt.. and first thing kate said to us was..  “you wouldn’t believed who came..? “  In which she told us Bin Ladin lookalike was in .. and left $50 for PB without any explanation.  Muahahhaha!!!  now that is so weird..!!!  What’s in store next we donch know..! muhahahahaa!!

Online Games

Slow times at work can be pretty boring so sometimes it’s fun to load up some web based flash games to play. mylifetime.com has some pretty fun games for old farts like me. I used to love watching the Golden Girls when I was younger so the GG Trivia Challenge is pretty interesting. Of course there’s always a version of Mahjong on these game sites, but it isn’t the real Mahjong! It’s just a tile matching game, real Mahjong is similar to Gin Rummy and is played by 4 people. Nothin’ wrong with tile matching though, it’s still a fun little time waster. Go check it out, but don’t let the boss catch you!

My Accent

I went back to the store for a few minutes yesterday.. to get some fresh air. Didn’t really stayed too long.. because the tummy started to get sore again. But there were a few customers in the store.. and business was being steady. I had joked with a customer yesterday.. but i guessed he didn’t quite get my joke.. hahaha!! maybe its my accent..?? maybe.. they just donch get chinese ppl’s joke eh..?? But the man .. quickly told the customer to ignore me.. muahahhaha!!

Military Relocation

One of friends and fellow business owners recently closed his store after over 10 years in business and has decided to join the military. It was rather surprising to hear his plans, especially given that he’s in his mid-30s. The latest news is that once he is done training and they station him somewhere, his family will be moving with him. It will be sad to see them go, but we wish them the best and will recommend a good military moving company to ensure that all their belongings get to their new home, safe and sound. U-Pack is a great little company, they do all the driving but you have to do the packing. It’s a little more expensive than just renting a van, but it’s great that you wouldn’t have to worry about which items are in which box.

Microsoft Shuts Down Business For Piracy

Although nothing was announced in our small town.. Yarmouth.. it was rumored that Microsoft shut down one of the computer business in our small town for piracy. For the last few weeks.. we had customers coming in with their computer.. telling us that they had gotten their computer from the business that was shut down.. and they had thought that they paid for genuine stuff. So i donch really know what the deal was.. but for sure. .they can’t get that kinda deal at our store.. because PB and I .. are the most paranoid.. and a wuss.. when it comes to breaking the law.

But my question is.. how can the customer not know that.. the copy of stuff they bought is not original..?? i know that this business that got shut down.. even does pirated games and movies.. not just software., so surely … the customer would know .>?? no..?? no wonder . .they always had lots of people going in and outta their store.. whereby .. PB wouldn’t even copy a movie for anyone.. not even his parents. They just have to take the original copies home to watch.. when it is not so popular.

Exciting Week

We love being busy and all at the store… and that was what it was last week.  A much deserve rest and some Orovo is needed to rejuvenate us during the weekend.. for another big week next week.  Besides the usual looking after the store.. from say.. 1.30pm.. to 9.30pm.. we still have a doctor’s appt, a blood test.. 3 hair cuts. .and calling the school up for the brat’s stationary.. and finish selling the tickets for parent’s place.. and write to Sobeys .. Tusket Ford.. and Canada Revenue regarding my changed number for my social insurance number. But that’s for another story..and another day.. about the wonderful government here.

Bin Ladin Lookalike Get Smacked By Crazy Chinese Woman

I swear that 9 years in business.. and you thought you already seen everything this town can bring you.  From the ridiculous .. to the ignorant.. to the cocky .. and to those who thinks that we don’t need to pay for our car because it is under our store’s name.

On the 20th of August.. a Bin Ladin lookalike came into the store to buy a computer part from PB.  We left shortly after for the kid’s needles for mumps/rubella and other good stuff.  When we came back, Bin Ladin was in shortly… and told PB that the computer part that he bought was actually his .. and stolen from him.

He accused us of buying stolen goods.. on top of it threatened PB .. that he was gonna call the cops in . .and SHUT OUR STORE DOWN.. !!!  muahahhahahahaha!!!  THE NERVE OF THAT IDIOT.  He said we had to verify the goods before buying it.. else he can get the cops to shut us down.  He wanted to take his stuff back .. without paying for it.  I asked him to prove that it really belongs to him.. and he said. he can call his manufacturer and so forth.  Ya.. right..!!!  the manufacturer got time for you ..!!!

To cut the long story short.. i told him that where i came from.. i would have jumped over the counter to smack him on his head.. for being so rude.. and ignorant. And that if he wants to play nasty.. so can we.  He was darn lucky..!! had my kid not walked in with the babysitter.. Bin Ladin lookalike might just have had been smacked on the head with a baseball bat.. that we kept under our counter.  Then this crazy chinese woman in Canada.. would be on local news.. with headlines.. “Crazy Chinese Woman In Canada.. smacked Bin Ladin Lookalike”!

Yes.. he apologized..and all.. but i didn’t really stay to chat .. because i had to bring the kid home.  Got no time for ppl like that.  9 yrs in business.. and ppl still wants to come in and tell us how to make our money. .and how much we should sell our stuff for..??!!!??  FREAK THAT..!! they can start .. when they start paying the light and heat bill.. and pay for the rent.

Laptop Batteries

There had been a demand for laptop batteries.. this few weeks.  But as usual.. when there is a demand.. we donch have it in stock.  But you never know .. when things are in demand would we..??  Plus in our kinda business.. one not have things in stock for too, too long.  The customer who came in for the laptop batteries.. had been coming in for the last few days. *sigh*

GameCube Games

In the last few days.. we’ve been selling alot of gamecube games.. and we don’t have many left. Surprisingly because we didn’t think it was popular anymore.. now that the Wii is easily bought in any stores. As you all know we buy and sell previously owned games.. and for the last 2 months.. we have had people coming into our store.. trying to sell the console. So i really don’t know why the sudden interest in gamecube games this week. One never can predict .. what would be popular this week.

Audio & Video Editing

New Or Used ..??

Before owning our own business.. i would never think of getting anything used .. especially electronics. But now that we owned our own business.. a computer one at that.. and have some used ones for sale.. because i had bought a new lappie for work, i now have a totally different view about used electronics/computers.

Used computers are not so bad to buy if the shop that you are buying from is trustworthy.. and not out to take you for a ride. There are of course some stores.. that just sells you junk .. and make you think that you are getting value for money. But at our store.. you can be assured that you are getting what you paid for.

Of course, we cannot guarantee that you used computer that you bought from us.. will not break down.. but if it does.. within one month.. we will take care of the repairs for you. After a month .. we will still continue to service it for a small fee. But i doubt you will have that much problems.. because we never sold something that came back more than once for repairs.

In business for almost 9 yrs.. you can be sure.. you will never find anyone more honest than PB… the owner of the store.. who refuses to charge more than $20/hr for working on any computer. His philosophy is .. he wants to make abit of money.. but not by ripping others.

I Refused To Be Bullied

Don’t i wished i could smack those ignorant ppl who thinks that they know all. Here she is trying to sell her stuff to us.. !! she is the one needing our help.. and needing money..!! Yet when PB offered them what we think was reasonable.. she told us that if we lowered our prices for used stuff.. we could have it sold quick .. and went on mumbling.

So she needs money.. she needs us to buy the stuff.. yet she wants to tell me how much i should charge to sell my things..?? in other words.. telling me how to run my business..?? BOY ..!!! was i mad..!! had she not taken the money and ran outta the store.. i would have stopped the transaction..!! coz’ she was not only rude.. she was ignorant..!!! and i refused to be bullied by some south end trash..!!

If PB buys anymore stuff from her .. in the future.. i’m gonna jump over the counter and smack him first.

Busy Store

We went to the store real early today but actually i should say.. yesterday.. since it is already after mdnite.. a  new day… because i had a doctor appt.  And boy was it a good thing.. because we were swarmed .. with customers.. with computers to be repaired.  It was so quiet last week.. and this week.. it picked up instantly.  Awesome..! as any business owners would know.. that being busy is always good.  It gets the bills paid eh.

We Are Not A Pawn Shop..!!

In our 9 years in business.. i don’t know how many times.. we have to tell people who tries to sell us their men’s jewelry that we do not buy any of it since we do not deal with jewelry.  But they insist that we are a pawn shop .. even after telling them that we are not.  I don’t know if putting up a huge sign would help.. because these ppl just refuses..!! to understand or comprehend.
