We came by a rare game for a really old system .. that is pretty much not found anywheres now. We have had some enquiries for it.. but the man isn’t willing to part with it .. for any small amount i guess. I think he is prolly keeping it for keepsake. RPG games for the Super Nintendo is almost absolete now.
On days when one has to deal with crazy B.I.T.C.H customer (just one since Bin Ladin lookalike), watching Gem of Life Episode 14 would have been a real life saver. Yes.. ! that was the phone call i received this afternoon .. when PB was out on an errand for a customer. How would you feel .. if you were in my shoes..?? While we try so hard to do everything by the book.. and never burnt a game or movie in our store. Absolutely not..!! and never even thought about it.
Don’t you think that was an insult..?? Customer sent her sister.. and a man.. with 2 kids.. to exchange a game with us.. that they had bought a week ago. I had asked for the receipt for it.. so that i can change the game for them. But nope. .they didn’t have the receipt. They called the sister .. who supposedly had the receipt.. but as soon as she got onto the phone with me.. she said “Isn’t it illegal that you are selling burnt games..??” in which i took serious offence to that statement. .and accusation. I then told the sister on the phone not to insult me.. or my business.. and before i could finish .. the bitch over the counter .. told me to stop shouting at her sister. In which . .i returned the phone to the man.. who was with the bitch.. and told them.. i can’t hear her.
The bitch over the counter.. told me.. that they are the customer.. and that i should “stop”. I tried to explain to her.. to put herself.. in my shoes.. in which she replied.. she is not her sister. So she went on saying that all she wanted was an exchange. .and i kept telling her.. that i want the receipt. You see I would definitely had done something for her. .if she wasn’t so rude in the first place.
And guess what..?? she stared at me so hard.. as if to tell me.. she would fight with me. .physically for a $10 bucks game.. which prolly didn’t even cost her $10 because we have a buy 2 get 1 free promotion on. .the whole week. You don’t go into ppl store.. and insult and accused ppl of selling illegal stuff..!!!!! what kinda person are you. …..??? ya.. i guess a very stupid one.. and plus .. i shouldn’t get too upset with someone that stupid right..? She even had the nerve to ask PB to get me to stop talking. .muahhahahaha!!! in which PB replied.. “she is my wife.. i’m not gonna ask her to stop”. Well. .he knows better i guess.
And no.. that’s no way to behave .. at all. .whether she was in my store.. or at someone’s else store. My mother would say.. “what a low class” .. if she was around.
When Easterly Showers Fall On The Sunny West Episode 6 is up for watching.. and you guess right..! i’m watching it at the store. But one has gotta be multi-task right.. ?? One of the perks that I can enjoy being owner by association eh. Now would i let my employees watch while they are at work… i think i would.. because if it doesn’t affect their work .. why not right..?? yah.. we are so flexi.. yet.. some ex-employees deem we were anal.
Remember a few months ago, we won air tickets to Montreal..?? Yup..!! the donation ticket that we didn’t buy ourselves.. but a customer turned good friend .. Sherri who had bought it for us as part of her Christmas present to us. Nah.. we didn’t get to go.. because it’s hard .. to shut down the store for week.. and leave. But if it was tickets to Las Vegas.. well.. you know who would be on the first plan outta here eh. The las vegas strip is definitely a place to revisit.. especially if this time. .was with my spouse and not with my ex-bosses and ex-engineers.. it would definitely had been a great trip.
Despite the fact that I always complained that there are loads of wierd ppl around this town.. i’ll have to say .. that we have many good business neighbours.. just like Wayne from the hair place a few doors away from us. He came to say hello with his Halloween dress up.. and stayed for abit .. before going back. Wayne is not your ordinary businessman.. he was involved in some humanitarian work.. and is big on giving back to society.
You can see how generous he was.. when Chloe was on a mission to raise funds for her school playground. When we approached Wayne while he was cutting a customer’s hair.. he whipped up $5 .. without even thinking.. and thanks to Wayne.. his customer too whipped out another $5. I wished more ppl were like him.. and honestly.. i wished he would run for town council one day. He definitely has my support full time.. !! hell..!! i would even volunteer to work for him.. as a volunteer.. for his campaign. Yarmouth needs more ppl like him.. someone who works hard, mind his own business.. yet has a big heart.. and fully on top of things.
Christmas is just around the corner and like any smart woman/wife and mummy, we try our darnedest to stretch our money. You really can’t blame us since the economy is so unstable these days, and with the American dollar getting weaker by the day one has gotta shop the smart way. Many years before coming to the West it had never occurred to me that one day I would be using discount coupons for just about anything I can save money on. Is it embarrassing, like some people might think? Of course not! Like my grandmother used to say ”why pay more when you don’t have to”.
The Verizon Wireless coupons will sure come in handy for me because it is not easy to get presents for the spouse. He only like “expensive” presents like computer upgrades and some ridiculously high end video card. So this year, knowing that he needs a new cellphone since the last one that he had gotten was like 5 yrs ago. Yes, it’s looking rather worn out these days, that cellphone. But one can save even more at savings.com because they have coupons for just about everything you need. From electronics to clothing, even gardening stuff. Coupons, here I come!
The man does a little repairing of systems.. whenever he gets a chance to. It’s not a money making avenue at all .. given the amount of time spent on these machines .. and the money he charges for it. But he loves taking everything out.. and then putting them all back together.. just like those laptops. The components inside the laptops are ridiculously tiny.. and seriously .. i donch know how he remembers it all. But like i said.. he is game to try just about anything.
I know customer service is important.. but in any kind of business.. we get the good customers.. and the not so good ones.. so what do one do.. when you get the not so good customers..?? We had thought about getting some espresso machines, one for home.. and another for the store.. so that our customers can come in and linger a bit .. the good ones of course. But every now and then .. we get someone who comes in and don’t want to leave.. so a coffee machine.. is not really such a good idea.. when you want that particular customer to move along. Plus our store.. has to do with a lot of kids.. so maybe just one for behind the counter thing..?? and not out in the open.. where customers can help themselves with the coffee.
