Good For You, Mayor Mooney!
I haven’t seen eye to eye with our town’s Mayor since he was elected almost 2 yrs ago – this coming October. But this morning – I read on our local papers how he refused to create another tax just to support a local organization supposedly to be helping the downtown businesses.
Yes for years – local business have to pay for parking – whether you have a car or not – and business occupancy tax – but this year or was it last – it was eliminated. But i also see another town councilor – who is also a lawyer – by profession and old guard – who is insisting that they find some money for this organization somewhere. The boss and I will be watching this very closely – to see how the small business is going to be affected. No way are we going to take it lying down if they are going to try and tax us small businesses again.
