A Week Of Absence
After a week of absence in the store.. i finally made it back for a wee bit. I couldn’t stay long .. for i was still in a lot of pain. But the little time i was there.. things were still the same.. some ppl were still making ridiculous demands.. some selling stuff.. and some buying.
That goes to show.. that no one is indispensable. Something did happen at the store.. while i was there.. but that would be for another day. In the meantime, I don’t think i will be going to the store.. for another few more days.
Another One Bites The Dust
It is not with pleasure that i am posting this .. as I am writing this with a very heavy heart. Jeff Hipson is one of the most humble and genuine person I have met in this town. A man of little words.. but a big heart. He opened his own business in 1996 after leaving another establishment. 12 yrs is a long time… to run and owned your own business. But I am sure .. Jeff knows what he is doing. Come June 30th .. Paper Trail .. will closed its door for the last time.. with a charity drive. PB and I wished him all the best.. and good luck.. Jeff..!
Jeff always had a great sense of humor .. this sign had seen many funny quotes and we’ve been tickled alot.. when we drive by. There will be no more funny quotes to brighten up my days.. after June 30.
We hate to do it .. Jeff..!! but you are making us go to Staples to get our supplies now..!!
What Is The World Coming To..??
I read in today’s news that the 18 yrs old actor of the Harry Potter film got stabbed and died during a bar brawl in London on Saturday. It is really sad.. and really not called for. The kid was only 18 yrs old.. with a bright future .. and he died..!
Recently, something similar happened in this town.. the victim didn’t die..but he was bashed up badly too.. the reason unknown till now.. how the fight began. Why do ppl resort to violence so quickly..?? Who is going to be the next victim of senseless beating up and accidental killing..??
Happy Birthday To Me !
Yes.. it is my birthday today..! i turned 43 yrs old.. and kinda feeling darn old.. muahahhahaha!!! To all who wants to send me a birthday card.. please donch.. use that money to kindly donate to Baby Akmal. It doesn’t matter if it is a dollar or 5 .. every cent helps.. and i’m pretty sure that Baby Akmal’s parents wouldn’t think that you are an el cheapo.. if you donate a buck. Life hasn’t been a smooth ride for me.. but i’m thankful to be alive.. albeit not that healthy because of my fibroids… but compared to Baby Akmal.. and his suffering.. mine is nothing. An Open Letter to P.P.P.
Yes.. i was about to write an open letter to P.P.P., taking the example of ProBlogger and his letter to Adsense. It was intriguing to read what ProBlogger wrote and it surely apt the feeling i had for P.P.P. yesterday.
I was angry of course.. yesterday.. but like always.. i never write or say anything.. when i am angry.. i give myself 3 days.. before doing anything. That way, i know I am not acting stupid. What about you ..?? do you rant and throw tantrums.. and wanna punch someone .. when you are mad..?? Oh. btw .. everything is resolved.. and P.P.P. is still my favorite ppl.
Very Tragic - 7 Students & A Teacher’s death
It was a sad weekend.. for all of us here.. in Nova Scotia.. or even the whole of Canada. Even though New Brunswick is so far away from us here in Yarmouth, I cannot help but feel my heart tightened when i think of what a tragic accident .. this was.
“A close-knit city in northern New Brunswick is in mourning after seven high school basketball players and a teacher died early Saturday when the van carrying them slammed into a transport truck on an icy road. “
The impact was so great.. the cops who arrived at the scene couldn’t do anything. The students ranges from 15 - 18 yrs old. . and were at their best times of their life. God rest their soul.
Grateful
This year .. Chloe and I have been really blessed by all our blogging friends.. from Malaysia.. and Singapore and the States. We have received as many as 10 - 15 packages of birthday gifts.. and Christmas gift .. of toys.. and food .. and accessories. These blogging mummies are so kind.. i really donch know how to repay them for their kindness. Some paid for express post, some courier them over.. at premium prices.. and some registered post… meaning they had taken time .. to think of me .. and made the effort to send them out to me.. spending money .. and lots of time. Even my own sister .. ain’t that great ..!!
I will post individual gifts soon.. but for now.. I wanna tell everyone how grateful and touched we are.. of your kindness.. and hope that we can reciprocate them.. 
Thank you .. and thank you again..! Your kindness will not be forgotten.
My New Year Resolution
My big and most important resolution for all my blogs is to answer all comments. Yes…!! i’ve been so busy with the store.. with our new product.. with taking care of the brat.. and cooking a few meals a day for her.. and cleaning the house.. and looking after customers.. keeping up with friends.. i haven’t been replying to any comments.. of these good fellow bloggers.
So my resolution .. REPLY TO THE COMMENTS..!!! and show appreciation .. by doing so..!! Ok.. i only have one.. i’m not that ambitious.. muahahahhaha!!!

Accident On Highway
Heartbreaking when you loses someone during the holiday season and especially in a freaky car accident. A customer was in to tell us that one of the business in town.. his wife was in an accident during the early mornings.. a few days ago. I was shocked of course.. because she was just in the store the day before to order some computer parts.
To hear that she was in critical condition .. made me very worried when PB is out driving on his own. This year we saw quite a few accidents and death.. involving customers that we know. Sure.. some we donch quite like them.. but still we would never wish such a tragic accident for anyone.
Drive carefully .. everyone…!! during this winter..! the woman who hit this business owner’s wife died on the spot. And she was on 20 yrs old… tragic..!
A Gift In Return
A couple of weeks ago, I posted on PPP’s forum about how I would love to do something as a group for Izea/PPP team. Not just me.. but calling out to all posties who if not for Izea/PPP, wouldn’t have gotten ahead with their bills, and many other luxuries that we couldn’t afford. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that Izea/PPP is God.. but if you and I have been posties, you will know what I am talking about.

But we have to give credit .. where credit is due.. and we’ve never had a more hardworking and dedicated team.. than Ted & his team. Sure we have had our ups and downs.. etc.. etc.. etc.. but is there something we can do for these folks..?? to show them .. we really appreciate them..??I do.. but if we can make it a team effort.. with as many posties . .doing it.. it would be great..! what say you ..??”
Seriously speaking, I’ve never met someone as nice, genuine and a matter of factly way as Ted Murphy. Never putting anyone down.. in any written articles or conversation. As for the team, yes .. i know we have our ups and downs.. and teething problems.. but I know for a fact that they are doing their best. Yes.. i’m very proud to be a PPP postie and in the past 7 months, I feel alot more useful than just helping my spouse with his business. I’ve made my OWN money.. since coming to Canada. It feels really good and I’m sure alot of bloggers out there .. know exactly how I feel.
Anyhow.. coming back to doing something for Izea/PPP team, Postie homeschoolZoo came up with a great suggestion about donating to a charitable organization picked by Izea/PPP team. And yes.. Ashley from PPP informed me this morning, that they’ve picked Habitat for Humanity. Read A Generous Gift at IZEA’s blog. Like my grandmother used to say, always give back to society, so here.. posties… this is your chance to give back to society, give generously, give whatever you feel comfy with, give because you have been given. Give for the nice folks at IZEA/PPP .. if you have ever had something done for you by the team.. irregardless if it was Ted or anyone at IZEA/PPP .. GIVE..! Trust me.. IZEA/PPP has done alot for me… but that’s for another post.
I thank you all .. from the bottom of my heart.. for all those donating or planning to donate. This is the best Christmas I’ve had.. because I’m able to do something back for the people who have done stuff for me.. and made my life a better/more meaningful one.

It’s Not Just Business
We were beginning to get a wee bit worried .. about a friend.. in the hospital up in Halifax.. and we called him on his cell this evening..only to be so relieved to hear that he is back home. The last we heard from him is last Friday.. and we all got caught up .. with the store.. and other stuff.. and although we kept having him at the back of our mind.. we didn’t make it to call him till today. Just so glad he is home.. because when he was up in Halifax.. we just couldn’t take off and visit him. We’ll find out more tomorrow.. when we see him.
No owning a business is more than just business when it comes to customer/s because most times, our customer/s turn into friends. Do you give your heart out to your customer/s too..?
A Christmas Tradition
My Christmas tradition is to add on ornaments onto my tree every year. Every year i choose a new theme to add on.. whether it is crystal, or pink or blue.. or clear.. i add onto the tree every year.. so by now.. my tree is really full. In fact, the tree should be full of ribbons.. but they are in the store.. so i have to remember to bring it home. One year.. i bought all ribbons for the tree. I think this year .. i am gonna get those stars.. for the tree. Next year.. i plan to get chocolate santa to put on the tree.. so that Chloe can have one each day.. after Christmas. What is your Christmas tradition ..?? for your tree..??
Speedy Recovery, Gary
Gary is still up in Halifax hospital.. and because of the bad weather on Saturday.. we didn’t even get to see him at the store.. when he came back home for the weekend. He started his chemo today.. but I heard they found tumors in his tummy today.
Nope.. it doesn’t sound good at all. In fact, if you ask me. .i’m abit worried. Gary is a good man.. 50 something years old.. and have been a really good friend.. and customer of ours. A fella .. who doesn’t talk to much.. doesn’t gossip.. doesn’t complain whatsoever. Seriously, I think he deserves better.. in terms of job, relationship.. and everything else. He is a very proud man.. and refuses help nor rides from anyone.
I can’t help but feel a wee bit sad.. and heavy hearted. Please say a pray for Gary .. before you turn in tonite. Thanks.
Visiting Gary
Visiting Gary was one of the highlights for our trip up to the city. Unfortunately, the brat wasn’t that comfy. .and after a very short visit.. we left. I had so wanted to keep him company a wee bit longer.. but nope.. the brat wouldn’t have it.
We donch really know what is wrong with Gary yet.. he doesn’t either. But i know he is sure getting bored up in the hospital in Halifax. He is currently given a weekend pass.. from the doctors .. and will be home for the weekend. PB even offered to pick him up from his home.. to the store.. instead of letting him walk. I really hope he gets well soon. Seeing Gary like this.. makes me wanna shout out to everyone to take care of their health. It is so important..!

I donch know if you all remember Gary.. our long time customer turned friend… who is our constant supporter for the store.. and the person who constantly contributes to my brat’s college fund since she was born.
Yes… Gary is ill..and is up in Halifax hospital right now. Looks like he is gonna be there for a week. So this weekend.. if we do go up to the city.. we will be visiting Gary in the hospital.. hopefully he will be well enough to come home soon. I know for sure.. chloe will miss him alot.
If you have a little time.. please say a little prayer for Gary.. and wish him speedy recovery.
Migrating Is No Fun - Part 6
Ok.. so you apply for PR .. and you have a baby on the way.. you crave for food from home.. you miss home.. and you start acting like a B.I.T.C.H because your hormones is all around.. and you wonder what you are doing so far away from home.. in the COLD..!! constantly COLD..! And then you ask .. “Ang Moh” when is the wedding..?? actually not so blunt.. since we all know asians.. wants their “face” .. so we ask them “nicely” .. so where do you see this relationship going..? Ok.. so revelation..! not ALL”ang mohs” wants to get married. And the what..?? Not all “ang mohs” are romantic ok..!! Not all “ang mohs” .. will buy you a diamond ring ok..! So still thinking of migrating with “ang moh”..??
RCMP Shot To Death
I’ve been in Canada for 7 yrs..and yes.. i’m ignorant.. i donch know where Nunavut is.. for the longest time. I knew it existed of course.. but i only got very interested in Nunavut after one very smart Malaysian blogging mummy married and moved to Nunavut. Aida.. from Footprints, sure made my eye open..! why..?? because she is one hellavu lady..!! write smart.. and not arrogant .. nor obnoxious.. and have a good sense of humour and of course a good head on her shoulder and very brave. Ever since stumbling onto her blog.. i’ve enjoyed reading it so much.. i have to visit it every single day.. as soon as she has an update.
And because of her.. i now noticed news from Nunavut like the police constable being shot in Nunavut. And I tell yer .. there are loads of great and smart mummies out there who uprooted in the name of love. And for that ladies.. ! I SALUTE YOU..! It is not easy at all.. i tell yer.. i know so .. because i am in the same situation.

“Sudbury newborn located safe and sound”
Thank God..!! A A newborn girl who was taken by a stranger from a Sudbury, Ont., hospital has been located and is safe. I made an appeal too in my other blog. A nationwide Amber Alert was issued when the day old infant was abducted. You can imagine how relieved i am.. knowing she is save. Can’t you imagine how her parents must be feeling right now..! Thank God..! have been praying for the baby girl all day.
